Page Background

The MAS Register of Representatives is a public record of individuals who conduct regulated activities under the Securities and Futures Act (Cap. 289) ["SFA"] and provide financial advisory services under the Financial Advisers Act (Cap. 110) ["FAA"].

Licensed corporations and certain exempt corporations appointing representatives to carry on business in regulated activities or provide financial advisory services are required to notify MAS of such appointments. The Register provides an online search for individuals that have been 'notified' to MAS. The Register contains information of persons who were previously licensed as a representative under the SFA and FAA prior to 26 November 2010 as well as information in respect of persons exempt from holding a representative's licence [excluding representatives of persons exempted under section 99(1)(h) of the SFA and section 23(1)(f) of the FAA] prior to 26 November 2010.

Every individual in the register has been certified by the CEO or Director of his financial institution to have met MAS' fit and proper criteria. Details on the fit and proper criteria, which include competency, financial soundness and integrity, are set out in MAS' Fit and Proper Guidelines which are available on MAS' website.
